Video game developer giant, Rockstar Games, is well known to video gamers for their Grand Theft Auto series. The company was established in December 1998 as a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. Thought of as a successor to BMG Interactive, who were a dormant video game publisher that Take-Two Interactive had already acquired the assets of.
Rockstar games publishes games that are typically in the action-adventure genre, although they have published some racing games which have been commercially successful. Their Grand Theft Auto series is one of
the most popular, with the first in the series being published in 1997. The original Grand Theft Auto was successful enough to justify creating a number of sequels, all of which had commercial success, although reviews have been mixed over the years. The latest game in the franchise, Grand Theft Auto V, has shipped over 95 million copies since it was first released in September 2013, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time, largely helped by adding online multiplayer, a first for the series.
One of their most popular offerings, Red Dead Redemption II, was released on the 26th of October, with positive reviews.
